Who did you have to cut off and why?
DeDe, I really enjoy the Adult conversation today. I did not want to call in because it is not my nature, however I wanted to let you know that I had to cut ME off from my family this year.
The situation was one where my brother passed and a series of events had unfolded that let me know how my family viewed me. The odd thing is that I have always went out of my way to help and be available for everyone of my sisters, nieces and nephews. I never asked anyone of them for anything not even to bless my own child during her growing years even to this day.
The most hurtful thing was that they influenced my mom with the same view and so my communication with her is non-existence. In light of this knowledge I felt it necessary to “move around.” I’ve had to deal with the pain of the lost of my brother and family but what you and George have said sometimes you have to maintain your peace of mind.
My feeling about this is relationship, my brother and I were able to evolve into a health friendly relationship, unfortunately that is not so with rest of the family even though I allowed one sister to live with me for 3 years.
Thanks for the topic.
I had to cut off my sister because I found that she was sharing our personal and private conversation with the family. i have No more trust in her. if I cant talk to my sister, without my business getting out who can I talk to.
And my mother and brother because they refuse to recognize I am an adult and I expect to be treated and spoken to as an adult. I refuse to argue and fight with you about who I am or who you think I am.
