Happen to me. . . family member pretended that they were high on some LSD or angel dust many years ago. (over 30 years ago) They were taken to the hospital where they continue to put on a show (seeing elephants on the wall, skin crawling with bugs, floating animals, etc). Immediately my parents blamed me (even though I never used those types of drugs, I may have smoked some weed but never the hard stuff). A few years ago this family member finally told me that she was faking and the reason they did it was because they want more attention from my parents (they were a teenager at the time this lie was told). After confessing the truth to me in front of my mom and another family member they all start laughing as if this was funny. I was like, really. . . . I thought I was going to get an apology instead I got laughter and was told to get over it because it happen a long time ago.
Wow! That person owe you an apology. Had it happen to one of the relatives who told you to get over it. They would not say that. Just goes to show the disrespect for your existance.
