Dear Doug Letters
by Doug Banks Radio Show
I have a question for you, could you care for a terminally ill ex? That’s what is being asked of me!
My ex-husband has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and has no one to care for him. We were married for 15 years and have been divorced for 8 and even though we are currently on good terms, I don’t think I could be his caregiver and I’m not sure he would want me to be! I still care for him a great deal; after all, he is the father of my children.
My children have pleaded with me to help him in his last days. Although I have forgiven him I have not forgotten. He disrespected our marriage and stepped out on me many times. He was a horrible husband but a great father. I am finally happy in my life. I now have a wonderful husband who love, respects and cherishes me. Should I turn the other cheek to the way he has treated me in the past?
